Firmament launched on May 18, 2023 as a complete puzzle-adventure game. All three DLC items (Original Soundtrack, Digital Strategy Guide, and Digital Art Book) were released on the same day as the game itself — these are supplemental media items, not game content expansions. Since launch, Cyan Worlds has continued to maintain the game with a series of bug fix and feature patches (Patches 3, 4, 6, 2.0.8, 2.0.9, 2.1.2, and 2.1.3), culminating in the major Patch 2.0 on November 6, 2024, which upgraded the game's engine from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 and added ray tracing support. While this was a significant technical update, it was a quality-of-life improvement to the existing game rather than new story or gameplay content. Cyan has not announced any expansions, additional realms, or new content for Firmament at any point. The game shipped as a self-contained narrative experience and has received no post-launch story or gameplay additions. The most recent developer communication was Patch 2.1.3 on March 13, 2026, which focused on PlayStation platform enhancements and minor bug fixes — consistent with ongoing maintenance of a finished product rather than active content development.
