Flock Around

Flock Around launched on April 24, 2026 with 6 biomes and 60 birds, and the developer has maintained an active and transparent update cadence ever since. The first major paid expansion, Emu Island, launched on July 16, 2026, adding 3 new biomes and 32 birds (later expanded to 40 via the August 5, 2026 Quest Update patch). The developer has been steadily shipping feature updates — new birds, public lobbies, text chat, a selfie stick, a native Linux build, a quest system, and UI improvements — since launch. Crucially, the developer confirmed on August 13, 2026 that another new map is actively in development ("We'll have more news coming soon about the next map") and that mod support is coming. The August 5, 2026 patch post similarly promised "more updates to come over the next few weeks" including features and preliminary mod support. Both DLC items on the store are released, but the developer's own words make clear that additional content is planned beyond what has shipped.
