For Honor launched on February 13, 2017 and has operated as a continuously updated live service game ever since. The store description explicitly calls it "A NEVER-ENDING GAME" with "seasonal events" and "an ever-evolving experience" — language that reflects the game's design intent rather than marketing hyperbole. The game is currently in its tenth year, structured around four seasons per year, each delivering new heroes, hero skins, battle passes, limited-time events, and balance updates. Year 10 Season 1 launched on March 12, 2026 with a new legendary hero skin (The Scorching Herald), a new battle pass, new event modes, and extensive hero balancing. Year 10 Season 2 launched on June 11, 2026 with the Oni's Hunt skin bundles and another battle pass. On July 23, 2026, an entirely new playable hero — Arakure — was released, with an associated throwback event (Metal Trials) running from August 13 to September 3, 2026. The developer published an August 2026 roadmap on August 1, 2026, confirming ongoing activity right up to today's date. Most critically, on March 11, 2026, Ubisoft Montreal explicitly stated: "we are even more excited to confirm For Honor will continue past Y10." This is a direct developer commitment to content beyond the current year. The DLC list now includes 53 items — all released — reflecting the live service model where cosmetic content ships continuously. The most recent DLC (Arakure) was released on July 23, 2026, just three weeks ago. There is no indication whatsoever that development or support is winding down.
