Formata launched into Early Access and graduated to its 1.0 release on December 7, 2017, bringing naval battles, a campaign, equipment updates, match statistics, and Steam achievements. Following the 1.0 launch, the developer issued several bug-fix hotfixes through December 2017, and shipped one feature patch in January 2018 (v1.1.0). A one-year anniversary post on January 22, 2018 reflected warmly on what had been accomplished and expressed hope to "do more," though no specific future content was announced. The only post-launch content addition after that point was the release of the Formata Soundtrack DLC on March 23, 2020 — the sole DLC in the game's store listing, and it is marked as released. No developer communications have been posted since the soundtrack release, now over six years ago as of June 2026. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmap or announced future content, and no sustained pattern of major content updates beyond those delivered around the 1.0 launch window. The game appears to have concluded its content development with the soundtrack release on March 23, 2020.
