Franchise Hockey Manager 4 launched on October 6, 2017 and received a series of post-launch updates through the following months. On March 5, 2018, the developer explicitly announced that version 4.7.80 would be "the final update for FHM4," and that the team would be transitioning to work on FHM5. A follow-up hotfix (version 4.7.86) was released on April 5, 2018 to address a few critical issues discovered after that final update — and the developer confirmed this hotfix would "likely be the final FHM4 update." No further updates or content have been announced or released since April 5, 2018. The developer clearly communicated the end of support for this title and the beginning of work on the next installment in the series.
