Evaluation
GAME.exe launched on July 2, 2021 as a self-contained narrative horror game. The developer published a launch roadmap on June 29, 2021 outlining a short post-launch plan covering localization, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. These updates were all delivered by August 14, 2021, completing the roadmap. Since then, the developer has not announced or released any new content for GAME.exe itself.
Instead, Punx Studios (formerly Amaro Studios) shifted focus to developing entirely new games: Office Elevator (announced April 2022), Katydids (announced May–June 2022), BODYRAIN (released April 2024), HARVEST (released June 2025), and most recently GAME.exe 2 – Phantom Strike (announced November 2025, released June 3, 2026). The release of a numbered sequel confirms that the original game is considered a complete, standalone product. No additional content, DLC, or updates for GAME.exe have been announced or implied by the developer at any point after August 2021.
Evidence

About this game

The game is set in 1999, you are in the shoes of a young man who has just bought his first computer at a used goods store, the machine in his hands belonged to Oliver, a game developer who had committed suicide months ago. He left several files behind, including a build of his most ambitious project that could never be released, will you dare to play it?

Inside the operating system you will have the freedom to explore what you want, Oliver's files, his notes and of course his game.
Use the resources of the operating system to your advantage to get rid of the damned files on your computer, but it won't be easy, Oliver is very proud of his creations and doesn't want anyone to mess with them.

To increase the immersion of a game based on the 90s, all the art of the game was created to represent an old OS interface, with many details and easter eggs.
The "game within the game" also follows the same aesthetic, with pixelated textures, rendering with few colors and a horrifying atmosphere.
