Garbanzo Quest

Garbanzo Quest launched into full 1.0 release on September 4, 2024, after more than three years in development. Following launch, the solo developer (Zachary) shipped several patches adding quality-of-life improvements, modding/level editor enhancements, and bug fixes through October 2025. On January 7, 2026, Zachary announced he had been working on a new game — SUPER DEBT — for nearly a year, and confirmed that Garbanzo Quest's success had been funding his livelihood. This post framed SUPER DEBT as his current focus, with Garbanzo Quest in the rearview mirror. On April 13, 2026, Zachary shipped a small surprise content update to Garbanzo Quest — adding Zoe as a playable character — while simultaneously announcing that his SUPER DEBT Kickstarter had been fully funded. He explicitly noted it was "fun coming back to Garbanzo Quest after so long," framing it as a one-off revisit rather than a return to active development. He also stated he "had more planned, but things took longer than I thought," suggesting the update's scope was intentionally limited and he was moving back to SUPER DEBT full-time. No further content has been announced for Garbanzo Quest. The only DLC is a soundtrack that released on launch day. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmap, and no developer statement indicating future updates are planned. The developer's attention and resources are now directed entirely toward SUPER DEBT. Garbanzo Quest appears to be a complete product as of the April 13, 2026 content drop.
