Gedonia 2 launched into Steam Early Access on April 9, 2025 and has been receiving major content updates on a consistent cadence of roughly every 3–5 months since launch. Four major updates have shipped so far: Update 0.3: Free City (October 14, 2025), Update 0.4 – Berkmere Ravine (January 14, 2026), Update 0.5 – Pelwood (May 6, 2026), and Update 0.6 – Pungent Swamp (September 30, 2026). Each major update adds a new zone, new skill trees, story progression, and a range of gameplay systems. Between major updates, the developer regularly ships feature patches and bug fixes — including on June 29, 2026 (Light Magic and Dragonkin form) and June 15–30, 2026 (faction war rework and multiplayer fixes).
The September 30, 2026 Update 0.6 post is the most recent communication. While the developer acknowledged being slowed by personal issues over the summer, they confirmed they are returning to work and stated explicitly that they will "start working on the Roguelike mode for the game next," describing it as "something quite unique" with a teaser already visible in-game when creating a new world. This is a clear commitment to the next major content milestone. The main storyline also continues to develop across updates, and the game has no announced 1.0 release date.
