Genome Guardian

Genome Guardian launched on May 7, 2024 and received a series of post-launch updates from the solo developer at Alpherior. The game grew substantially through six numbered major updates, culminating in Major Update 6: Full Spectrum on October 14, 2024, which completed the full roster of 49 turrets and 96 perks and explicitly made 100% checklist completion possible for the first time. Following that, updates shifted to feature patches and bug fixes rather than new content additions. The developer's focus then moved to two successor projects. On January 25, 2025, the developer confirmed they still had update plans for Genome Guardian but were fully focused on Cell Command (a companion game set in the same universe), which released on June 19, 2025. On November 27, 2025, the developer announced Genome Guardian 2, and on March 5, 2026, Genome Guardian 2 launched into Early Access — a separate game on a separate store page. The most recent patch for the original Genome Guardian (Update 7.0.4, July 21, 2025) was a minor maintenance update with balance tweaks and bug fixes, not new content. No new content has been announced or shipped for the original game since the Full Spectrum update in October 2024. The developer's creative energy is now directed at Genome Guardian 2 and Cell Command, both of which are fully separate titles. The original Genome Guardian appears to have reached its complete state with Major Update 6 on October 14, 2024.
