Ghost Song launched on November 3, 2022 as a complete Metroidvania adventure. In the weeks following launch, developer Matt White shipped several patches adding quality-of-life features — including New Game Plus and mouse aiming support — indicating active post-launch engagement.
The game received one significant free content update on September 28, 2023, nearly a year after launch. This update added a new region (Toler-Under-Foot), a new boss (Xorogon), a new NPC encounter (Leaf), an expanded story arc for an existing character (Lua), and balance adjustments. The developer framed this as a content enrichment of the existing game rather than a first installment in a planned series of updates.
Since that September 2023 update, there has been only one further post — a security patch on October 5, 2025 addressing a Unity engine vulnerability. No new content, roadmap, or announcement of future additions has been communicated. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no season pass, and no developer statement indicating further content is planned.
The pattern here is: one major content drop roughly a year post-launch, followed by more than two and a half years of silence (aside from a maintenance patch).
