Evaluation
Google Earth VR launched as a free app on November 16, 2016. Over the following 15 months, Google shipped a series of feature updates: Oculus Rift and Touch controller support plus search functionality (April 18, 2017), a UI and cache system refresh (July 26, 2017), Street View integration (September 14, 2017), Street View navigation improvements and faster load times (December 20, 2017), and a final update on February 13, 2018 adding navigation in Street View peek mode and crossfading between photo transitions. That February 2018 patch is the last recorded developer communication of any kind. No updates, announcements, roadmaps, or developer posts have appeared since that date — now more than eight years ago. There is no unreleased DLC, no announced future content, and no ongoing update cadence. Google has not made any statement explicitly calling the app "complete," but the combination of a very long silence, no outstanding commitments, and no evidence of a sustained post-launch update cycle beyond that 2016–2018 window all point to the app having reached its final state as of the February 2018 patch.
Evidence
Feature patch adding Street View peek navigation, crossfading between 360 photo transitions, and a slow-flight button. This is the last official communication from the developer.
Major feature update introducing Street View integration across 85 countries, allowing immersive 360° photo exploration from within Earth VR.
