Evaluation
GP Bikes entered Steam Early Access on December 17, 2021 and remains in that state. PiBoSo has maintained a sustained pattern of beta releases across the Early Access period: beta20b (December 21, 2021), beta20c (January 16, 2022), beta20e (March 11, 2022), beta21 (August 18, 2023), beta21b (November 22, 2023), beta21c (January 3, 2024), beta22 (March 8, 2025), and beta22b (March 18, 2025). Updates have ranged from bug fixes to meaningful new features, including improved physics models (fork simulation, virtual rider, gearbox), new sound effects, additional bike setup options, and UI improvements. The game is openly labeled as unfinished Early Access software, and the developer has not announced any plans to conclude development or release a 1.0 version. The most recent communication was on March 18, 2025. While this represents approximately 18 months of silence as of today (October 8, 2026), PiBoSo's historical pattern shows an ability to go extended periods between updates — there was a roughly 17-month gap between beta20e (March 11, 2022) and beta21 (August 18, 2023). This precedent means the current silence is consistent with past behavior and does not clearly signal development has ended. No studio distress signals have been communicated, and there is no developer statement indicating the game is complete or that no further updates are planned.
