Grandpa released on September 28, 2018. The only developer communication on record is a post from April 26, 2018 — roughly five months before launch — in which the developer acknowledged the game was at a very early stage and promised substantial updates within four months. Despite this, there have been no developer posts, patch notes, or announcements of any kind since that pre-launch message. The game's short description still includes the phrase "Early access game," which suggests the developer originally intended to keep building on it. However, the Steam Early Access flag is not active, the game is sold as a standard release, and the developer has been completely silent since before it even launched. Given that the developer's only public statement described the game as unfinished and promised future work — but no follow-up communication or updates have ever materialized — it is unclear whether the game ever received the promised improvements or whether development has quietly stalled.
