Grimshire

Grimshire launched into Early Access on July 22, 2025 and has been actively developed since. The developer has shipped major content updates roughly every 4–8 weeks, adding new player species, crafting stations, gameplay systems, localizations, and more. The most significant recent update is version 0.29.2, published on July 22, 2026 — exactly one year after launch. In that post, the developer confirmed that work on Year 2 is ongoing but explicitly stated: "The Year 2 update still has a long way to go. It won't be coming out in 2026." They also noted this would likely be the last base-game update for a while as the team shifts focus entirely to Year 2 development. Earlier posts reinforce this picture: the December 15, 2025 update noted Year 2 had no estimated release date and was "not coming out any time soon," and the April 2, 2026 patch confirmed the team was "writing out the story and working on the systems for year 2." The original Early Access launch roadmap listed substantial undelivered content including Year 2 story, romance, marriage, children, mounts, a greenhouse, and more. Many of these remain unshipped. The game also carries the developer's explicit promise — made at launch — that there will never be microtransactions or paid DLC, and that all future content is included in the one-time purchase price.
