Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched on PC on December 3, 2019 and has received sustained post-launch support ever since. All six games in the collection (Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4) are available as released DLC packs. The developer has consistently shipped meaningful updates well beyond the initial launch window. Notable post-launch content includes the July 2023 major update, which added 8-player Firefight for ODST and Reach, Halo 4 Campaign and Spartan Ops Theater mode, Halo 3 Escalation Slayer, and the first batch of "Digsite" content — restored cut content from Halo's history in partnership with community modders. A follow-up announcement in July 2023 previewed additional Digsite content still in progress at that time, including reconstructed Halo 2 E3 demo maps and other cut assets. Most recently, on February 26, 2026, 343 Industries shipped a significant Exchange update that restructured how cosmetic unlocks work — making nearly all Exchange content permanently available and establishing a clear quarterly rotation schedule for the remaining limited items. This is the most recent major communication from the developer, and it demonstrates active ongoing stewardship of the game. The February 2025 patch addressed Easy Anti-Cheat maintenance, showing continued technical upkeep. No developer statement announcing the end of support has been made. The consistent cadence of updates — ranging from major content drops to feature patches to maintenance — indicates the game remains under active care. A March 2026 post also promoted the broader Halo franchise sale and wishlisting of a new standalone title (Halo: Combat Evolved Campaign), suggesting the franchise remains active on PC.
