Hamster Playground launched out of Early Access on July 11, 2024 as a free-to-play title. Since its full release, Mass Creation has shipped a steady stream of major content updates: the Cute Pets DLC on August 30, 2024; the Royal Hamsters DLC and Adventure & Style DLC Pack on December 6, 2024; and a batch of new skin packs (Magicians, Detectives, Time Travelers) along with the Tales & Tails Skin Bundle and The Whole Playground Pack on May 28, 2025. Two further DLC items — the Detectives Skin Pack and the Magicians Skin Pack — carry release dates of December 31, 2025, indicating content was still shipping after May 2025. This establishes a sustained cadence of major content releases, typically every 3–6 months post-launch. The store description continues to advertise "more modes coming soon," and the July 2024 road-ahead post described the Cute Pets DLC as "the first in a series of content updates." A November 2024 patch note additionally teased a "big update really soon," which was plausibly fulfilled by the May 2025 batch. The developer has not made any statement concluding post-launch support. With the most recent DLC dated December 31, 2025 — roughly nine months before today's date of September 24, 2026 — we are approaching the outer edge of the established 3–6 month cadence window, but no developer communication has indicated development is ending. The game remains in active content development.
