Hanabi and Ghost Girl launched as a free-to-play interactive fiction RPG on February 22, 2025 and has received consistent developer attention since launch. Both of the game's DLC items — the Art Original Package (released February 28, 2025) and the side story epilogue DLC "The Black Cat and the Crimson Moon Girl" (released January 21, 2026) — have shipped and are listed as released on the store. However, the previous assessment that development had concluded needs to be updated based on a June 15, 2026 developer post. On that date, the developer released a beta update adding substantial new content: expanded epilogue story sections, three new CGs for the Art Pack DLC, a new difficulty selection for chase sequences, a new in-game dialogue log replay feature, and a new save confirmation system. The post explicitly states that "there will most likely be one or two more small versions to fix bugs, update short skits, and expand the epilogue content" before the full version goes live. This means the developer is actively working on further content updates to the game beyond what has already shipped. The beta is available now, but the final polished version with all new features has not yet been released. The developer — a solo creator — has maintained consistent communication and updates throughout the game's life, and is currently mid-update-cycle as of August 2026.
