Hand of Doom

Hand of Doom launched on May 16, 2023 as a complete dungeon crawler RPG. After a prolonged period of silence following launch, the developer (Torple Dook) explained on December 12, 2023 that the game's development had taken a severe toll on their mental health and finances, and that no further work was possible at that time — though they promised not to abandon it. True to that promise, the developer returned on October 27, 2025 with a substantial quality-of-life and bug-fix update (Version 1.1), which overhauled the save system, rebalanced combat, added Steam achievements and trading cards, and introduced new control and graphics options. This was followed by a series of follow-up patches in November 2025 and January 2026 addressing issues surfaced by players after the major update. On February 10–11, 2026, the official soundtrack was released as a free DLC for all owners of the game — the only DLC listed for the title and the last notable content addition to date. No future content, expansions, or roadmap have been announced. The developer has not communicated any plans beyond the now-shipped updates and soundtrack. The game's store description presents it as a self-contained experience with a clear beginning, middle, and end. With no outstanding commitments and no post-launch content pattern pointing toward further releases, the game is complete as of the soundtrack release on February 10, 2026.
