The developer has shipped updates across multiple years: early bug fixes and feature additions in 2019, controller and Steam Deck support in mid-2022, AI improvements in late 2022, further bug fixes and controller refinements in September 2023, a significant AI and dictionary overhaul in December 2023, and most recently a substantial v2.0.0 update on May 29, 2026 that added 6 new playable languages (Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Romanian, and a sixth unlisted), expanded joker letter functionality, and new joystick input support for console players. This most recent update arrived just 28 days before today's date, indicating the developer is actively engaged with the game. No specific future content has been announced, but the developer has shown no signs of concluding development and has been consistently improving the game over a seven-year span.

The object of Happy-Words is to score more points than your opponents.
A player collects points by placing words on the game board. Each letter has a different point value, so the strategy becomes to play words with high scoring letter combinations.
The game supports English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Bulgarian languages.
Your can play Happy Words in 3 modes:
The game is highly customizable. You can play with different settings like "time to think", one or two bags of letters, with or without use of helping dictionary and many others.
You can also customize your board color and tile color styles.
