Heat Death: Survival Train entered Early Access on December 12, 2024 and has been receiving a steady stream of substantial updates ever since. The developer has shipped major content drops roughly every 1–3 months throughout the Early Access period: new outposts and train extensions in March and April 2025, a new underground station and battle arena in September 2025, a full prologue overhaul in December 2025, the first island of Chapter 2 in June 2026, and the second Chapter 2 island in July 2026 (v0.4.1.d, the most recent update as of July 23, 2026).
The game is clearly mid-development. The developer has been actively building out a multi-island Chapter 2, and the update history shows no sign of slowing down. No 1.0 release date has been announced, and no statement has been made indicating that development is winding down. The last developer communication was on July 23, 2026, confirming the game is actively maintained.

Build your train from scratch in Heat Death. Construct structural elements such as walls, floors, and ceilings, and then install power generators, heavy weapons, drones, shields, and many other modules to your train. You can also personalize your train’s appearance and layout by selecting and arranging decals and modules.
Explore a Dynamic and Frozen World
The world of Heat Death is vast, dynamic, and unforgiving. Explore frozen lakes, mountain ranges, caves, frozen jungles, and cities where you can find loot, unlock new equipment, and discover the fate of humanity! Since you can move your base, you can explore these environments with ease!
Survive Deadly Storms
