Heaven's Vault

Heaven's Vault is a complete, self-contained narrative adventure game that launched on April 16, 2019. The game itself received a handful of post-launch feature patches and bug fixes in the weeks after release (fast travel, translation improvements, Steam Cloud support added in April 2024), but no additional game content was ever released or announced. The developer, inkle, has since expanded the Heaven's Vault universe through a series of novelizations sold separately outside of Steam. Books 1 and 2 (The Loop and The Vault) were published previously, Book 3 (The Flood) launched on May 29, 2025, and Book 4 (The Rising Light) — explicitly described as the final book in the series — was released on May 9, 2026. These are prose novels sold through the inkle bookstore, not game DLC or in-game content updates. In the April 16, 2026 anniversary post [NEWS-2], inkle mentioned "a couple of unannounced HV-related things in the planning stages" with "no promises," but framed this as possibilities for the broader world, not committed game content. The May 9, 2026 post [NEWS-1] concludes with "Thank you for sailing the rivers with us!" — marking the narrative sequence as complete. None of these novel releases or vague future hints constitute announced game content. The only DLC on Steam is the official soundtrack, which was released the day after launch. There is no unreleased game DLC, no roadmap for game updates, and no developer statement suggesting additional game content is coming. The game shipped as a finished product in April 2019 and remains complete.
