Evaluation

Hello Neighbor 2 launched on December 6, 2022 alongside all three of its paid DLC packs (Hello-copter, Back to School, and Late Fees). Throughout 2023, the developer — Eerie Guest and tinyBuild — published a 2023 roadmap in February and delivered a steady stream of patches focusing on AI improvements, new gameplay features, and polish. The most significant post-launch content addition was Patch 9, released on November 1, 2023, which added an entirely new area: the Raven Brooks Forest, complete with a church, graveyard, sawmill, and a new mysterious character. A follow-up hotfix on November 23, 2023 refined that content and added new DLC cutscenes, representing the final substantive content update to the game. After that point, developer communications shifted to franchise-adjacent content: a mobile game (Hello Neighbor: Nicky's Diaries, December 2023) and a YouTube animated series (Season 2 launched October 2024). Neither of these represent additional content for Hello Neighbor 2 on PC. All three DLC packs listed on the store are released. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future updates for the game itself, and no developer statements promising additional Hello Neighbor 2 content. The last Steam news post about the game itself was in November 2023, and the developer has not communicated any further plans for the PC game since then. The game appears to have reached its final content state with the November 2023 forest update and DLC polish pass.

About this game

Not everything is as it seems in Raven Brooks. Picking up directly after the events of the original game, the police show up at Mr Peterson’s house — where he had kids locked up in his basement.

As Quentin, an investigative journalist, you sneak into crime scenes and people’s houses to find clues and evidence. It’s up to you to piece this puzzle together. Building upon the formula of Hello Neighbor 1, you play in a larger open world with multiple houses inhabited by suspicious characters.

  • Sneak into suspicious characters' houses, because that’s what investigative journalists do
  • The town of Raven Brooks is your playground, with AI-driven residents inhabiting its houses
  • Track down Mr Peterson - the infamous creepy Neighbor
