Evaluation

Hide and Seek is a free-to-play multiplayer game developed and published by a single developer (Llama Software) that released on August 31, 2017. After launch, the developer maintained an active monthly devblog cadence and shipped regular updates. Two major content drops were delivered post-launch: the Halloween Hedge Maze update on October 24, 2017, and the Space Station level on December 15, 2018. The developer also shipped several feature patches covering UI overhauls, performance improvements, and chat system additions between 2017 and early 2018. The Space Station update (December 15, 2018) was the last documented major content release and also appears to be the last developer communication on record. Prior devblogs had outlined a longer-term wishlist including Skills, Sprays, Taunts/Emotes, and Voice Lines, but these were never formally committed to on a fixed timeline and were described as aspirational. Critically, there have been no developer posts, patch notes, or announcements of any kind since December 2018 — a gap of over seven years as of June 2026. None of the aspirational features were delivered, and the developer never published a roadmap or formal commitment for them after the Space Station shipped. All 46 DLC items (cosmetic hats) were released at or shortly after launch on August 31, 2017, with no unreleased DLC on the store. The store description notes the game "still is being developed," but this language predates the apparent end of active development and has not been updated to reflect the current situation. Given the absence of any developer communication since December 15, 2018, no unreleased DLC, no outstanding formal commitments, and no sustained update pattern that would suggest a return to development, the game is best understood as having reached its final content state with the Space Station update.

About this game

Play Hide and Seek online with your friends!

Hide and Seek is a first person multiplayer "FPS" game where you play hide and seek in various environments. Hide and Seek follows the traditional 1 Seeker vs many Hiders model of hide and seek that everyone is familiar with.
Hide and Seek was developed by a single developer! It took more than 2 years for the first release, and still is being developed.

Gameplay

As a Hider you have a short period of time to get away from Base after the round starts. The Seeker will be stuck in Base until that time expires. Base will then be locked for a period of time. During this time, all Hiders must try to stay away from the Seeker, who will be hunting for them. Once this Hide Time expires, Base will reopen and all Hiders must make it back before the round ends.

Hide and Seek requires an internet connection to play. You can host your server own through the in-game menus, or join one someone else is hosting. Don't see a server you like? Join up with some friends and host a LAN party.

Hide and Seek is 100% free to play. There are no costs to play or to host your own server.

If you wish to support the continued development of Hide and Seek consider purchasing a Hat or two.
