Hieroglyphika launched on February 3, 2016 as a complete roguelike game. Following launch, the developer shipped a handful of updates through 2016: gameplay speed improvements in February, a content update adding two new enemies and hieroglyph descriptions in June (v1.2.1), a screenshot feature in August (v1.3.0), and a Soundtrack DLC in December 2016. The last developer communication of any kind was on December 22, 2016 — the soundtrack release. There have been no posts, patches, announcements, or updates of any kind since that date. The store description describes a complete, self-contained game with no mention of planned content, seasons, or ongoing development. The sole DLC is a released soundtrack. With no unreleased content, no developer statements pointing to future updates, and complete silence since December 22, 2016, the game appears to have been a finished product since its final content update in August 2016.

Hieroglyphika is a roguelike game completely without text but with pictograms.
You get lost in an ancient egyptian pyramid buried deep under the sand of the desert and full of traps and monstrous beings. Decrypt hieroglyphs to learn spells and to understand the magical nature of artifacts.
Fight your way through dangerous corridors down to the deeper levels of the pyramid in a turn-based fashion. Open sarcophagi or kill enemies and you will find loot. Cast the spells of the dead. Defend yourself with ancient shields. Push your enemies into bottomless pits. Or strike them down with enchanted weapons.
There is no hand-holding of any kind. Figure out the mechanics and rules on your own. Be attentive and creative. Find novel solutions to odd combinations of random events. Be an explorer!
