Evaluation
High School Odyssey launched into Early Access in March 2022 and graduated to its full 1.0 release on November 9, 2023. In the launch post on November 10, 2023, the developer explicitly stated that they had "finished the content of High School Odyssey," marking a clear endpoint to the game's development cycle. During the Early Access period, the team shipped multiple feature updates adding new gameplay systems — including a gang/protection racket mechanic, a phone-call system, difficulty modes, manual save/load functionality, and a literary club poetry mechanic — before wrapping up with English language support and the final 1.0 release.
The developer's 1.0 announcement acknowledged that some community-requested features (such as Steam Workshop and NSFW content) were being considered but explicitly noted these were uncertain due to policy and ethical concerns, with no commitment to deliver them. No roadmap, unreleased DLC, or future content has been announced. The most recent developer communication was the 1.0 launch post on November 10, 2023, and there have been no signals of ongoing development since. The game launched as a complete, finished product at 1.0 and is best treated as such.
