HOARD launched on April 4, 2011 and received two DLC packs within its first year: Dynamite Roll (August 16, 2011) and the Sandwich Pack (September 22, 2011). Both are fully released with no unreleased DLC remaining on the store. In August 2019, Tyler — the game's original designer — posted that Big Sandwich Games had closed, and that he had personally purchased the rights back to HOARD as an act of appreciation for the game. He was transparent that he was primarily employed at Red Hook Studios (working on Darkest Dungeon) and could not make firm promises, but expressed hope to publish "improvements or bug fixes here and there" and possibly improve the game or make a sequel "one day." Over the following months, he delivered on the maintenance side: original music was restored in August 2019, graphics fixes were applied, game files were decrypted (with a mention of potential Workshop support being considered), and a mouse aim fix and new camera option shipped in December 2019. The last developer communication was on December 15, 2019, when the camera angle option was added. Since then — as of June 28, 2026 — there have been no further posts, patches, or announcements. Tyler's 2019 statement was explicitly framed as personal maintenance work done in spare time, with no roadmap, no announced future content, and no unreleased DLC. The speculation about Workshop support and potential improvements was casual and non-committal, and no follow-through has materialized in the years since. Both DLC packs are fully released, no future content was formally announced, and the developer's own framing made clear this was a passion project with uncertain scope. The December 2019 patch represents the end of the post-acquisition maintenance wave, and the game is considered content-complete.
