Yet Another Zombie Defense launched on March 28, 2014 and received a series of post-launch content updates through 2016, adding new weapons, game modes (Endless Night, Deathmatch), characters, and other improvements. On August 25, 2017, the developer released an HD remastered version of the game (Yet Another Zombie Defense HD) as a separate product on Steam, which served as the culminating upgrade — rebuilt in a new engine with improved visuals, new enemies, a fourth playable character, Steam Workshop support, and various quality-of-life features. The store description for this original version references the HD remaster as being available, indicating Awesome Games Studio considers that the definitive version of the experience. Since the HD release in August 2017, the developer has shifted focus entirely to other projects. In June 2020 they launched Fury Unleashed, and on October 1, 2025, they announced their next game, HELLREAPER. There have been no further content updates or communications about Yet Another Zombie Defense since 2017. The original game is complete as a product, with all development having transitioned to the HD remaster and subsequent studio titles.

About this game

Yet Another Zombie Defense is all about defending yourself against hordes of undead attacking you every night. However, when you're the only survivor struggling against waves of enemies who are getting stronger and stronger, your end is inevitable. The only important question is how long can YOU survive?

The game is a top-down arcade zombie shooter with strategy elements. You're able to choose from variety of weapons to mount them onto auto turrets and set up defensive barricades to stay alive as long as you can. It's for gamers who like to put their skills to the test, find optimal strategy, and reach the highest spot on leaderboards! It also features online co-op mode, where you can blast zombies with up to three friends as well as player vs player deathmatch mode!

HD Remastered version is available!

The remastered HD version of the game is available and has better rendering and physics, new zombie characters and animation, as well as the addition of new enemies. There's also features like localization including non-English chat, cloud saves, non-Xbox controller support with full controls remapping, overall better stability and performance, as well as many other minor improvements.
