Evaluation
Versus Squad launched on October 26, 2016 and received a steady stream of feature updates through mid-2018. The developer (DiezelPower) added new weapons, maps, bosses, difficulty modes, and quality-of-life improvements across roughly a dozen patches between launch and June 2018. The most recent developer communication was version 1.32, posted on June 11, 2018. Since that date — now over eight years ago as of June 2026 — there have been no further posts, patches, announcements, or developer communications of any kind. There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store, no roadmap or outstanding content promises, and no developer statements about future plans. The game appears to have reached the end of its update cycle after that final patch, with no indication that further content is planned.
Evidence
Version 1.32 released — the last known developer update, adding new languages, a new difficulty mode, balance changes, and co-op improvements. No mention of future content.
Version 1.30 added a new map (The Great Wall), part of a pattern of regular content additions that stopped after June 2018.

About this game
Versus is a fast action twin-stick shooter from the creator of Nation Red. Create your own sandbox defense before doing battle with thousands of zombie mutants in fast-paced top down combat. Face up to a dozen bosses. Simultaneously. Play in single player, on-line or local coop with up to 4 players!
Set up your player class, attributes and weaponry, then choose your map setting and build barricades, tactically place explosives, sentry guns, ammo and medical kit stockpiles, weapon stations and more.
Then battle it out in Free Play or Tactical Mode, alone or with friends and survive against 360-degree zombie attack or defend one or more breach points.
Save your map to disk or Steam Cloud to play later or rearrange your defenses after a defeat to try a different tactical approach.
During your play collect loot, repair your base and earn dozens of perks ranging from increased weapon accuracy to setting up drone strikes.
Versus supports leaderboards, per-game and lifetime player and weapon stats, achievements, custom map making and more.
Build your sandbox defense and see how long you survive on your own map!
