Hollow Knight: Silksong launched on September 4, 2025. Team Cherry followed up with a series of patches addressing bugs, balance adjustments, controller support improvements, and localisation — the most recent of these was March 16, 2026. On December 16, 2025, Team Cherry announced a free expansion called *Hollow Knight: Silksong – Sea of Sorrow*, describing it as a nautically themed addition bringing new areas, bosses, tools, and more. They stated it was coming "next year" (i.e., 2026) and that additional details would be shared closer to launch. As of today, October 8, 2026, the expansion's self-imposed 2026 release window has passed with no release, no delay announcement, and no developer communication of any kind since the March 16, 2026 patch — now nearly 7 months of silence. The expansion remains unshipped and unaddressed publicly. Anyone waiting for all content should hold off until Sea of Sorrow ships and Team Cherry confirms its status.
