Hot Squat

Hot Squat is a free-to-play VR fitness game that launched on November 22, 2016. The store description explicitly states "No micro-transactions, no paid DLC," signaling it was designed as a complete, self-contained product from the start. After launch, the developer (Bean Boy Games) shipped a handful of patches and small updates: bug fixes in late 2016, a new achievements update in January 2017, an audio toggle feature in July 2017, and a cosmetic Valentine's Day theme in February 2018. The Valentine's Day update on February 8, 2018 was the last meaningful update to this game. Development effort after that point shifted entirely to a sequel — Hot Squat 2: New Glory was announced on August 30, 2019 and released on September 20, 2019. A November 2023 post confirmed that all Bean Boy Games titles, including Hot Squat 2, became free at that point, but this referred to the sequel, not new content for the original Hot Squat. There are no unreleased DLC, no announced future updates, and no developer statements suggesting additional content for the original Hot Squat is planned. The game launched as a complete free product and has received no developer communications directed at it since February 2018.
