HYPERFIGHT

HYPERFIGHT is a free-to-play fighting game that launched on March 7, 2019. The developer shipped a series of major content updates through 2019 and 2020: the v2.0 "Unlimited" update (September 14, 2019) added online multiplayer and new characters, and the v3.0 "Finale" update (August 22, 2020) — explicitly called "the final major update" by the developer — added two new characters, two new stages, and Training Mode. In December 2021, the developer posted that a full rewrite with rollback netcode was in the works, but this effort was ultimately redirected into a brand-new title, HYPERFIGHT 2. By December 26, 2023, the developer confirmed that HYPERFIGHT 2 is a separate paid release and that the original HYPERFIGHT "will remain as it is, at least for now." Since then, all developer activity has been focused on HYPERFIGHT 2: a playtest ran in April–May 2025, a full demo launched on April 16, 2026, a final demo character was added on June 20, 2026, and HYPERFIGHT 2's Early Access release was announced for October 12, 2026. None of this activity concerns the original HYPERFIGHT. The original HYPERFIGHT is a finished product. The developer explicitly marked v3.0 as the final major update, and no new content for the original game has been announced or shipped since August 22, 2020.
