Evaluation
Imagine Lifetimes launched on November 26, 2020 as a self-contained, short point-and-click game with 20 endings. The developer (Tim / Frycandle) issued a handful of patches in the weeks immediately following launch to fix design issues and improve replayability, and a language update in August 2022 adding community-contributed translations. None of these posts announced new content or suggested ongoing development for the game itself.
On November 8, 2024, Tim formally announced his next game — The Button Effect — in a post addressed to Imagine Lifetimes players. In that announcement he explicitly framed Imagine Lifetimes as a previous, completed project ("If you've enjoyed my previous project, Imagine Lifetimes, this one is something completely different"), confirming he has moved on to a new title. No future content for Imagine Lifetimes has been announced at any point.
The game was designed and described as a short, finished experience by a solo developer. There is no DLC, no season pass, no roadmap, and no developer statement suggesting additional content is planned. The game is complete as it launched.
Evidence
Developer announced a new game (The Button Effect), explicitly referring to Imagine Lifetimes as a previous project and expressing hope that fans of Imagine Lifetimes would be curious about the new one — signalling that Imagine Lifetimes is complete and the developer has moved on.
Imagine Lifetimes launched with 20 unique endings, described as the full release of the game after nearly five years of development.
