Evaluation

Immortals of Aveum launched on August 21, 2023 as a complete single-player first-person magic shooter. After launch, Ascendant Studios delivered a meaningful wave of post-launch improvements and content. The most significant was "The Echollector" update on November 16, 2023, which added a new endgame content area, boss fight, new gear and lore, New Game+, and a Grand Magnus difficulty mode — the studio's largest post-launch update. Subsequent patches through May–June 2024 added HDR support on all platforms, AMD FSR 3 with frame generation on all platforms (a first for consoles), and VRR support, with a final bug-fix patch on June 7, 2024 resolving HDR persistence and DLSS issues. In their April 2, 2024 developer post, Ascendant Studios acknowledged the game's commercial underperformance at launch but expressed optimism about the game finding its audience over time. Crucially, the same post revealed the studio has moved on to an unannounced next project, with the team "hard at work" on it. They noted they were balancing IOA improvements with "other unannounced projects," signaling that Immortals of Aveum is no longer the studio's primary focus. There is only one DLC listed — the Deluxe Upgrade, which released the day after the base game. No unreleased DLC exists on the store. No roadmap, season pass, or future content has been announced for the game. The post-launch update cadence ended with the June 7, 2024 bug-fix patch, and there have been no developer communications about Immortals of Aveum since that date. The game shipped as a complete single-player experience, received one major content update and several technical patches, and the developer has since shifted focus to a new project. The game appears complete as of the final patch on June 7, 2024.
Evidence
Developer post confirms the studio is hard at work on an unannounced next project, while also continuing to improve Immortals of Aveum with upcoming HDR and FSR 3 patches. Acknowledges the game's commercial underperformance but expresses optimism about it finding an audience over time.
