Incremental Epic Hero 2 launched into full release on January 2, 2025, after 2.5 years in Early Access. Since launch, Hapiwaku has maintained a consistent cadence of major content updates: a major update shipped just two weeks after launch (January 17, 2025), World Ascension Tier 2 — the developer's self-described "Biggest Update in IEH2's History" — shipped on February 17, 2026, and additional feature and optimization patches followed through March 2026. On August 26, 2026 — just one day before today — the developer announced that an alpha test for the next major update, World Ascension Tier 3 (WA3), has officially begun. The developer is calling this the "Biggerest Update" in IEH2 history, explicitly noting it is even larger than the February 2026 release. The alpha is being conducted through Discord ahead of a public Steam release, and the developer is actively collecting community feedback on difficulty, pacing, and balance. This is the most recent developer communication and confirms that substantial new content is currently in testing and will be arriving on the public Steam version in the future. All four DLC packs listed on the store are convenience/starter items that have already been released. The game's major content continues to be delivered as free updates rather than paid expansions. With WA3 in alpha testing and the developer actively engaged, more content is clearly on the way.
