Infernax launched on February 14, 2022 and received a healthy series of post-launch updates, all delivered free to existing owners. The first major update (August 2022) overhauled accessibility and quality-of-life features. The Halloween 2022 update added a new playable character, The Stranger. The largest post-launch effort — the "Deux or Die" co-op update — shipped on April 5, 2023, introducing a fully new playable character (Cervul the Squire) with his own move set, two-player local and remote co-op, game rebalancing, and additional story content. A follow-up bug-fix patch arrived in October 2023 to clean up issues introduced by the co-op update.
The one-year anniversary post (February 14, 2023) was the last statement hinting at future content, noting that "the biggest chunk" of the year's post-launch work had "yet to come" — a teaser that was clearly fulfilled by the Deux or Die co-op update that launched less than two months later on April 5, 2023. No developer communication since October 2023 has announced or hinted at any additional content. The only DLC listed is the soundtrack, which was released on launch day. There is no roadmap, no unreleased DLC, and no developer statement indicating further updates are in the works. The post-launch content cycle — spanning from launch through April 2023 — appears to have concluded with the co-op update, with the October 2023 patch representing final maintenance work. ● DEUX OR DIE UPDATE
Return to the lands of Upel as the Duke Alcedor, this time joined by your trusty squire Cervul as you attempt to regain control from the forces that plague your duchy. The new mode is playable as a standard 2-player local co-op or as one player hot-swap mode that allows a single person to control both characters by switching on the fly.
Use Cervul's various tools to bring victory, or ruin, to the land and the people that inhabit it in this newly rebalanced version of the game!
