Insurgency: Sandstorm

Insurgency: Sandstorm launched on December 12, 2018 and has been receiving a steady stream of major named content updates ever since. The developer has shipped at least six major "Operation" updates in the tracked period alone: Operation: Accolade (March 30, 2023), Operation: Onslaught (October 24, 2023), Operation: Crisis (June 18, 2024), Operation: Resurgence (December 5, 2024), Operation: Overrun (April 22, 2025), Operation: Shell Shock (October 21, 2025), Operation: Clear Sight (February 24, 2026), and Operation: Breachpoint (May 28, 2026). Each update has brought new maps, weapons, game modes, and cosmetics, establishing a consistent release rhythm of roughly every 3-8 months. In June 2024, the developer posted a dedicated "State of Sandstorm" statement explicitly confirming: "We can confirm that nothing has changed in terms of the level of support that Sandstorm is receiving. We are actively working on the game" with a dedicated long-term team and "future content on the horizon." This is a direct developer statement of ongoing commitment. The most recent major update, Operation: Breachpoint (Update 1.21), shipped on May 28, 2026 — just over two weeks before today's date. The update added a new close-quarters map, two new pistols, and faction customization options. The DLC list reflects the same pattern, with cosmetic packs releasing in lockstep with each Operation update as recently as May 28, 2026. There are no unreleased DLC entries, but the consistent pattern of cosmetics shipping alongside each Operation — with no gap in that pattern — strongly supports continued development. No developer statement suggests the game's content development is concluding.
