Interloper launched on May 21, 2015 and received a handful of patches and a first-anniversary feature update (June 2016) before going quiet. On May 21, 2018 — the game's third birthday — the developer posted an explicit statement that they had disbanded the company earlier that year, were dropping all support for the game, and were making it free to play as a farewell gesture. That post is a clear and unambiguous conclusion to the game's development. A follow-up post on May 21, 2025 (the game's 10th birthday) signed off from "The (former) Monogon Team," reinforcing that the studio no longer exists and the game has long been in a finished, unsupported state. No DLC, expansions, or future content have ever been announced. The game launched as a complete package and received only minor patches and quality-of-life improvements before the studio closed. Development officially concluded when the team disbanded and dropped support in May 2018, with the game made free at that point.
