Interstellar Pilot 2 entered Steam Early Access on January 2, 2023, ported from its original mobile release. The only developer communication on Steam is a single minor bug fix post published on launch day (January 2, 2023), which fixed two small issues. Since that date — now more than three years ago as of June 20, 2026 — there have been no further posts, patch notes, feature updates, announcements, or roadmap communications of any kind on Steam. The game remains marked as Early Access, which by definition means it was released as an unfinished product with the expectation of further development. However, the complete absence of any developer activity since launch day makes it impossible to confirm that development is continuing. There is no roadmap, no stated completion goals, and no indication of what the developer intends to deliver before a 1.0 release.

Earth is ravaged by war and depleted natural resources. Despite advances in propulsion technology, humankind has failed to reach the nearest star system, Alpha Centauri. What scarce minerals can be found in the Sol system are dominated by emerging pirate factions.
A mysterious wormhole appears in the rings of Saturn with no explanation. Early pioneers venture through and report back the discovery of the star system of Gatopea, an area of space never before observed from Earth's telescopes.
Earth's nations establish the Terran Expeditionary Force, a massive fleet of scientific and naval vessels tasked with breaking out of Sol and establishing a secure and permanent colony in Gatopea. With all hope extinguished of salvaging Earth, the fate of humankind rests in the new frontier...
