Evaluation

Iron Madness launched into Early Access on March 2, 2016, as a multiplayer car combat game. The developer was active briefly after launch, posting a minor bug fix update on March 23, 2016, a feature patch adding two new cars on May 10, 2016, and then a final announcement on May 18, 2016 explaining the decision to make the game free-to-play in order to build a larger player base. That May 18, 2016 post is the last communication from the developer on record. The store description still promises "lots more content coming," and the game remains in Early Access to this day — meaning the developer never officially declared the game finished or graduated it to a full release. However, no updates, announcements, or any other developer activity have been observed since May 2016, now nearly a decade ago. The promised "major update" mentioned in the March 2016 post never materialized publicly. The game is still purchasable (for free) on Steam, but there is no indication that active development has continued. The combination of an unfinished Early Access state, unfulfilled content promises, and a complete absence of developer communication since May 18, 2016 raises serious concerns about whether this project is still being developed at all.
