Evaluation

Juice Galaxy is an Early Access game under active, ongoing development by solo developer Fishlicka. The store description states plainly: "The game is still in active development. There's still a ton of work to do. I want to polish the physics and add a ton more abilities, places, music, items, monsters, and story." This is a direct developer commitment to future content. The update history fully supports this. Since the November 22, 2023 Steam launch, the developer has shipped a steady stream of feature-rich patches: version 0.2.8 (December 23, 2023) added holiday content; 0.2.9 (April 3, 2024) introduced a new spell and bubble technology described as the first in a series of story-focused updates; 0.2.10 (August 30, 2024) added the new Bubbletropolis area and NPC companion Ingot; 0.2.11 (October 26, 2024) expanded the Dream Eater boss fight; 0.2.12 (February 22, 2025) split the game into a demo and full version with a new NPC; 0.2.13 (June 16, 2025) added a new monster and combat improvements; 0.2.14 (August 23, 2025) introduced destructible planetoids and a new sky area; 0.2.15 (October 29, 2025) added Halloween items; and 0.2.16 (February 6, 2026) reinstated the Automobile enemy with a note that the developer has "funky ideas for it in the future" and plans "something more flashy for next update." This establishes a clear update cadence of roughly every 2–5 months between significant patches. As of today, October 1, 2026, approximately 8 months have passed since the last post (February 6, 2026). The developer has previously taken breaks between updates — the gap between 0.2.12 (February 2025) and 0.2.13 (June 2025) was about 4 months, and 0.2.13's post acknowledged "a pretty long break since the last update." An 8-month gap is somewhat longer than typical but not outside the range of this developer's pattern, particularly given the solo development context. There are no distress signals such as funding loss or studio closure. All three DLC items (two soundtrack volumes and a notebook DLC) were released at launch and are complete; no unreleased DLC is listed.

About this game

Juice is everything. There is nothing in the Fog. There is no greater honor than to serve the Juice Queen, and the sky is definitely not made of plywood.

Juice Galaxy is a happy place to fly around and smack things and drink juice. And explore things. And just, flip around doing stuff. Use any of a multitude of weapons to clobber and devour the local wildlife. Gather juice to increase your power and take on more powerful enemies.

The game is still in active development. There's still a ton of work to do. I want to polish the physics and add a ton more abilities, places, music, items, monsters, and story.

Enjoy, and please feel free to leave feedback or suggestions.
