Kabounce launched on May 29, 2018 and received a healthy run of post-launch content updates over the following two years: a Summer Update in July 2018 (ranked mode, new arena, 20+ challenges), a December/Winter Update in December 2018, a Summer Anniversary Update in June 2019, a Winter Update in December 2019, and finally a Halloween 2020 update in October 2020.
The Halloween 2020 patch on October 23, 2020 included a direct and unambiguous statement from the developer: "We're going to start working on a new title and while we'll maintain support, we won't be planning any new updates to Kabounce for the foreseeable future." They described the Halloween update itself as a "send off present." The developer did commit to keeping the online servers running, but explicitly stated that new content development has ended.
A small hotfix was released on October 26, 2020 to address bugs in the Halloween update itself, but this was maintenance work directly tied to the final content drop — it does not signal any change to the studio's stated direction.
All three DLC items listed on the store are released, and no unreleased DLC exists. The game's content is complete as of the October 23, 2020 Halloween update.
