Evaluation

Kasi launched on January 7, 2021 and received a steady stream of major updates in its first year: version 1.2.0 (February 6, 2021), 1.3.0 (March 1, 2021), 1.4.0 (March 8, 2021), and finally version 1.5.0 (January 7, 2022), which added a full solar system with 10 planets. That January 2022 update — "Planted Planets" — is the last developer communication on record. In the version 1.5.0 post, the developer acknowledged taking a long break due to a full-time job and noted it had "been a while." Crucially, there were no promises of future content, no roadmap, and no announced DLC. The developer's earlier note in the version 1.1.0 post (January 18, 2021) had already flagged that updates would come "at a slower pace." After version 1.5.0, there have been no further posts of any kind through June 24, 2026 — over four years of silence. The game launched with no season pass, no DLC listings, and no live-service structure. All content that was promised or teased was delivered through successive updates. The last major update shipped on January 7, 2022, with no outstanding commitments remaining and no further communication since. This is consistent with a solo developer who shipped a complete, self-contained product and has moved on. The game is complete as of the version 1.5.0 release.
Evidence
Version 1.5.0 'Planted Planets' released — the largest update to date, adding a solar system with 10 playable planets. No future content promised; developer noted a long break due to a full-time job. This is the last official communication from the developer.

About this game

Kasi is a simple game where you play as a plant. You start as a humble seed planted in the ground. You can create branches and leaves to collect sunlight, and roots to collect water. Having these in a good balance gives you energy to grow.

You design the shape of your plant. You can go straight up and grow into a mighty tree, or you can stay low to the ground and be a nice hedge. You can grow vines which can snake along branches and across the ground. You can use regular leaves that collect sunlight, or special ones that collect moonlight. Growing flowers allows you to be pollinated and grow fruits.

The world around your plant is simple. The days lead into nights. Rain can fall and give you extra water. Birds come and go from your branches. The sun and moon move at different speeds, so sometimes there are eclipses. Stars can burst for extra light at night.

A couple creatures sometimes take shelter among your leaves. Some may fertilize your plant for faster growth.

Kasi is rendered with a minimalist aesthetic and only a small amount of visual flair.

Enjoy!
