Keep Keepers launched on October 28, 2024, and received its first major content update — the "Drums of Winter" update — on December 23, 2024, adding a new weapon run, overhauled bomb mechanics, balancing changes, and quality-of-life improvements. The developers have remained communicative throughout the game's life with regular patches and announcements. In May 2025, the two-person team announced they are working on a new game called Islantiles, but explicitly stated: "We feel that Keep Keepers is in a pretty good place right now, but we're not done yet. In fact, we're already planning another content update." In October 2025, they reaffirmed this in a security patch post, stating: "We know many of you are eagerly waiting for a new content update and we promise it will be coming. It will just take a bit more time." Most recently, on June 4, 2026, the developers hosted a free playtest weekend for Keep Keepers, demonstrating continued active engagement with the game and its community. The promised content update has not yet shipped as of that date, but the developers have not walked back their commitment to deliver it.
