Evaluation
Nom Nom Galaxy launched out of Early Access on August 3, 2015. Following its full release, Q-Games continued to support the game with a series of post-launch patches: a UI and performance update in March 2017, a custom planets feature in February 2018, Steam Deck support in February 2022, and a final network stability and localization fix on June 1, 2023.
The only paid DLC ever released was the Original Soundtrack on February 16, 2016 — there are no unreleased DLC items listed on the store. The launch post mentioned plans to "add a few modes" in the months following release, and those intentions appear to have been worked through over the subsequent years of updates. No roadmap or announced future content has remained outstanding, and the developer has not published any communication since June 1, 2023 — now over three years ago.
The update history shows a sparse, gradually tapering pattern of maintenance and compatibility patches rather than an ongoing content development cycle. The most recent post was a straightforward bug fix with no mention of future plans. With no unreleased DLC, no outstanding developer commitments, and more than three years of silence following the last patch, the game appears to have reached its final state as of the June 2023 update.
Evidence
Final update released addressing network stability and Japanese localization. No mention of future plans. Last official communication from Q-Games.
Version 1.04 released, adding custom planet creation and sharing feature, plus control improvements and bug fixes.
