Evaluation

KEO entered Steam Early Access on December 9, 2021, and the small team at Redcatpig Studio maintained an active weekly update schedule from launch through mid-2022. During that period, they shipped multiple new vehicles (Painkiller, Theox, Mantra), a new map (Campgrounds), a reworked matchmaking system, party mode, economy changes, and various feature patches — demonstrating genuine momentum for the first six or so months. However, the last developer communication of any kind was a routine bug fix post dated June 30, 2022. Since that date — nearly four years ago as of today (June 24, 2026) — there have been no patch notes, no announcements, no roadmap, and no developer statement explaining the silence or addressing the game's future. The game is still purchasable on Steam and still carries the Early Access flag, but there is no evidence the development team is still active or that the promised path to a 1.0 release remains on track. Given that the studio was posting every week and then went completely silent without explanation, there is meaningful uncertainty about whether KEO is still being actively developed or whether the project has quietly stalled.
Evidence
Final known developer post: a routine bug fix update with a note that 'bigger things' were being worked on but too soon to share. No communication has followed.
