Kill It With Fire launched on August 13, 2020 as a complete game. Following launch, the developer shipped a series of free content updates: the Omega Files patch in October 2020, a Holiday Update later that year, the Anniversary Update on August 13, 2021 (which added an entirely new level called "Down the Spider Hole"), and finally the Halloween Update on October 27, 2021. After the Halloween Update, no further content was released for the original game. The developer disclosed in August 2021 that they had spent most of that year working on a new, separate game — which turned out to be Kill It With Fire 2. That sequel launched in Early Access in April 2024 and reached its full 1.0 release on November 25, 2025. All subsequent developer activity has been directed at Kill It With Fire 2, not the original. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content, and no developer communications suggesting further updates to the base game. The original Kill It With Fire reached its final content state with the Halloween Update on October 27, 2021.

The spider - mankind’s most ancient and deadly nemesis. As a licensed Kill It With Fire exterminator, it’s time to fight back! Assemble your arsenal of increasingly excessive weapons, track spiders across suburbia, and burn everything in your path!
To defeat spiders you must exploit their one weakness: FIRE. Or bullets. Or explosions, throwing stars, gettin’ smushed by stuff...pretty much anything, really. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy - first you’ve gotta find the spiders. Use state-of-the-art arachnid tracking technology to pinpoint your target's location among hundreds of potential hiding spots - then, torch everything and smash the spider with a frying pan after it runs out. It’s the only way to be sure.
