Evaluation
Kill The Music launched on August 21, 2025 and has been actively updated since then. The developer shipped multiple feature and balance patches in August and September 2025, followed by the major v1.40 Mosh Pit Update on October 16, 2025, which added new items, enemy power-ups, round types, and two new songs. A quality-of-life patch (v1.41) followed on December 1, 2025.
In the v1.40 post, the developer noted they would be shifting some attention toward prototyping a new project, but explicitly stated: "We still have updates scheduled for Kill The Music but the update frequency will slow down as we balance our time." This is a clear statement that further updates are planned, just at a reduced pace.
The most recent communication is a January 20, 2026 announcement for their new game, which also contained a parenthetical note: "We're still working on the next KTM patch." This confirms active development was continuing as of January 20, 2026.
As of today, September 24, 2026, the last developer communication was on January 20, 2026 — roughly eight months ago. The developer had signaled a slowdown in update frequency, but did not announce an end to support. Given that pace was explicitly expected to slow, a longer gap between updates is consistent with what was communicated. However, eight months of silence after a stated slowdown, with no new patch materializing and no further word, is beginning to push toward uncertain territory. The developer's most recent statement still affirmed ongoing work, and the gap, while notable, falls within what a significantly slowed cadence could plausibly look like. The assessment remains active development, but this should be revisited if no update or communication appears by early 2027.
Evidence

v1.40 Mosh Pit Update shipped with new items, enemy power-ups, round win conditions, and two new songs. Developer stated updates would continue but at a slower pace as they begin prototyping a new project.
