Evaluation

Kingdoms Reborn has been in Early Access since November 2, 2020, and remains in that state as of today, October 8, 2026. Earthshine has delivered ten major updates throughout the Early Access period, introducing new factions (Emirates, Norsemen, Shogunate, Tlatoa), major systems (renewable energy and pollution, military revamps, co-op mode), a full UI overhaul, and most recently a new Apocalyptic Map mode and Decoration System on February 17, 2026. The store description explicitly states that "more exciting cultures" are planned beyond the five currently in the game, signaling ongoing content ambitions. The historical cadence between major updates has generally ranged from roughly 6 to 12 months. As of October 8, 2026, approximately 7.5 months have passed since the last major update on February 17, 2026 — this sits at the outer edge of the established 6–12 month cadence window, but does not yet exceed it. The developer has not announced a 1.0 release date or indicated that development is winding down.
