Knight Squad 2 launched on April 14, 2021 as a full release (not Early Access), with 13 game modes, 97 battle arenas, and 16 knights. The developer then shipped two post-launch content updates: the Shiny Update (version 1.0.4) on May 13, 2021, which added quality-of-life improvements and new content, and the Legendary Update (version 1.0.5) on October 6, 2021, which added two new game modes (Jail Break and Vault Raider) and two new playable characters (Sinister and Spike). After that, the only post-launch communication was a bug fix on September 12, 2022 addressing an 8-player local issue. There have been no developer communications of any kind since September 12, 2022 — nearly four years ago as of today. No future content has been announced, no roadmap exists, and no unreleased DLC is listed. The two major content updates were released roughly 5 months apart, but with over three and a half years of silence following the last bug fix, the game shows no signs of ongoing development. The game appears to have concluded its content updates with the Legendary Update in October 2021.
