Lucy -The Eternity She Wished For- originally released on February 28, 2016, as a complete visual novel. Over the years, the developer released cosmetic and soundtrack DLC — an Ending Theme OST in June 2017, a Classic Skin in October 2019, and a Wallpaper Pack in March 2022 — along with numerous localization updates expanding the game to eight languages. On February 28, 2026 — the game's 10th anniversary — Modern Visual Arts Laboratory officially announced that a new Lucy project is in development. This is described not as a simple patch or update to the existing game, but as a substantial expanded project that inherits the main story and structure of the original while adding a new heroine route and fully redesigned visuals with a "strong reboot-like quality." A teaser video was released alongside the announcement. The developer was transparent that the project is still in early stages and that concrete details and a release schedule are not yet available. All three DLC items currently listed on Steam for the original game have been released, so there is no outstanding unshipped content for the base game itself — but the newly announced project represents a clear, explicit commitment to delivering more Lucy content, directly from the developer.
